Apple's new ResearchKit offers a convenient way to participate in significant medical research studies using your iPhone. Stanford Medicine is inviting you to join the MyHeart Counts study, aimed at enhancing our understanding of heart health. The MyHeart Counts app serves as a personalized tool to measure your daily activity, fitness levels, and cardiovascular risk. It not only helps you gain insights into your own heart health but also contributes to the global efforts to maintain healthy hearts. Join us in our research endeavor and make a meaningful impact on heart health today!

The MyHeart Counts app utilizes the sensors in your iPhone or Apple Watch, as well as other wearable activity devices connected to the Apple Health App, to track your physical activity. Additionally, it offers the option to perform a walking fitness assessment if you are able. By incorporating your cholesterol results and blood pressure, the app calculates your risk of future heart attack or stroke, along with providing a "heart age" comparison. Through continuous activity monitoring and personalized feedback, our objective is to empower individuals with knowledge about their health for improved well-being. Furthermore, we may request your participation in testing different approaches to enhance physical activity, aiding us in understanding the potential role of mobile apps in preventing heart disease.

To be eligible for the Stanford MyHeart Counts research study on heart health, you must:
<ul>
<li>Be 18 years or older</li>
<li>Reside within the United States, United Kingdom, or Hong Kong</li>
<li>Be able to read and understand English</li>
</ul>
